The Audio Loop Station

The goal of this project is to build a Max/MSP patch that is capable of recording audio input and looping playback. In an era when digital music and audio processing has become ubiquitous, interfaces that allow a single musician to loop his/her musical phrases and play them back in real time have become a promising tool for users creating layered compositions in a live setting. The Audio Loop Station was inspired by Ableton Live 8’s Looper object as well as hardware guitar pedals like the Boss RC-2 Loop Station and aim’s to achieve similar functionality while allowing the user to save their money on expensive software or hardware patches. Max/MSP allows such software to be built and distributed to Max users and non-Max users alike through the Max/MSP Runtime.
